The yoga postures – to develop courage, confidence and strength
When I was 21 I suffered a herniated disc in my lower back. I could not sit in the acute phase, are only stand or if he felt uncomfortable at the time. A After the acute phase has passed (with rest, although acupuncture and shiatsu are great), I had the opportunity to meet some yoga teachers and started attending their classes. I started out with Oki yoga, which is a Japanese form of yoga, and very good for healing the body.
I gave a series of correcting and strengthening exercises designed to improve back-specific and meridians who are in need of attention in my particular case. Oki yoga postures classified on how they affect the meridians, which are like the energy pathways in our body. And it was the only thing that has helped restore completely back, a condition that has been better than it was before getting hurt. When you suffer an acute injury, if yoga really should not be attempted until that moment has passed.
This introduction to yoga ignited a deep love through which I began to see the benefits more subtle health brought to my life. Yoga can help a wide range of physical problems and injuries, but also a great alternative to the gym for those who found that repetition and distraction of this is not to your liking. It is ideal for toning your body while gaining flexibility.
Yoga has a reputation flexibility, and rightly so. But it can also develop strength. Force development is particularly important for women. Women tend to be more flexible men, but not as strong, unless they were involved in regular physical conditioning. But unlike many traditional forms of exercise, yoga also strengthens muscles and internal organs of our body. This is an excellent preparation for childbirth!
Yoga also develops discipline. This is what the regular time is to go to class or practice yoga in your living room or the morning sun in the garden. But there is a more subtle level of discipline. It starts with bringing your mind to concentrate on your breathing and feel the effects of body posture. This conscious exploration is a very different experience of fitness usually seen in the gym – where loud music, televisions and other external elements fighting for attention. You will not see people with headphones, or read a magazine while doing Yoga.
This conscious exploration establishes a relationship with your body, and its importance can not be overestimated. Too often, the parts of us are frozen or numbness in a certain way. This is expressed physically as pain, cold or stiff. Energy is as if, despite attempts focus on one area, we can not be compulsory.
On a more subtle when we feel the resistance points in our bodies as we do a pose – when you breathe in this rigidity, and sometimes pain, develops strength and mental strength. Yoga is, of course, help concentration. But this process of liberation and go beyond the point of physical limitation is not limited to the organization. He developed a quiet confidence and knowledge about their own capacity is not hampered by the limitations we have a misconception before. By practicing yoga, you can reconnect with this yogi call our dharma, our purpose in life. And we are in our power grows, the courage to follow that path.
And finally, a quote from a yoga teacher in Sydney, Australia, Eileen Hall, published in Australian Yoga:
“Yoga is not the trigger, is not losing weight, is not learning meditation. It’s about discovering the divine within ourselves. ”
